Monica Jean Wentzel was a character on the series Harpers Falls. She was played through the original series end by actress/stuntwoman, Elle Alexander, best remembered for her role of heel wrestler, Danger on Women of Wrestling. In 2013. Monica returned (again played by Alexander, this time on a contract basis) to become a part of her great niece, Jacqueline Haller's life.
Allison Wentzel's more sensible sister[]
The beautiful Monica is the youngest daughter of Joan Wentzel and the sister of Allison Wentzel. She was the apple of her late father, William Wentzel's eye, something which did not escape the jealous Allison's notice.
While they got along as children, Monica and Allison's relationship was strained by some long-hidden secrets. Namely the fact that Allison's daughter, Catherine Watkins Haller wasn't the daughter of her husband, Robert Watkins, as everyone in the family had long thought.
It was revealed that she was the daughter of Matthew Abbott, an old friend of the family, and the brother of the town's leading attorney, Denise Abbott. This secret tore both the Wentzel and Watkins families to shreds, as well as the Abbotts, once it was discovered.
Monica had never begrudged Catherine, letting her know that no matter what, she would always be loved, and that she would always be welcomed.
Monica lived with her mother and sister back in Syracuse, where the Wentzels have always lived. Her plans didn't bring her to Boston, but upon realizing that her beloved niece had a daughter, she wanted to go and meet Jacqueline, and hope that she can have a relationship with her.
Eventually, Monica made a visit to Boston and finally met Jacqueline. She solidified her niece's hatred of her grandmother, when she told her the whole story of why Jacqueline was adopted. It broke Monica's heart to do it, but she felt Jacqueline was entitled to the truth. This helped Jacqueline see some of her history, and it also angered her at her grandmother.
After Allison was confronted on her lies, Monica decided to move back to New England. She moved in with Nicholas Haller; his girlfriend, Taylor Addison and with Jacqueline. She enjoys being back in Boston, and with Allison out of her life once and for all, Monica can now become a part of her niece's life.
Monica, like the rest of her family, is astonished to discover that she is the cousin of the Minzell family. Her mother's sister, Joyce, was their mother.
However, after the initial astonishment, she bonds with her cousins, and is instrumental in helping them keep the troublemaking Allison away from them. Allison is persona non grata with the family, when she made a nasty remark towards her extremely sensitive cousin, Jamie Minzell.
